Questions From Introducers

What is an introducer and can I refer clients to you?

An introducer is a broker who works for a brokerage and refers clients in need of business funding to us. If you regularly work with UK businesses that may benefit from short-term cash flow finance, we would be happy to work with you. There is no cost to partner with Funding Alternative.

It is simple. You submit a client’s details to us, we handle the assessment, offer, and funding process, and once a deal completes you receive a commission payment. We keep you informed throughout so you always know where your client’s case stands and we may ask you for further information along the way to help us with our review.

You have two options. You can submit applications through our introducer portal, which gives you a dedicated dashboard to track every case in real time and typically results in a faster turnaround.

Alternatively, you can email your client’s details directly to us at [email protected] and we will handle it from there. Either way, we will keep you updated at every stage.

When you submit through the portal, we receive everything in a structured format and can pick it up immediately. Email submissions can occasionally require a back-and-forth to gather missing information, which adds time. If speed matters to your client, the portal is the better route.

Before any introducer can submit applications on behalf of a brokerage, we require a signed introducer agreement from a director of that brokerage. This is a straightforward one-time process that covers both parties and allows all introducers working under that brokerage to get started. If you are unsure who needs to sign or what the agreement covers, get in touch and we will walk you through it.

That depends on the nature of your brokerage and the type of clients you work with. Some brokerages are FCA authorised; others operate on a non-regulated basis. We can discuss this with you when you get in touch to make sure the arrangement works correctly for your situation.

Commission is paid as a percentage of the funded amount and varies depending on the product and deal size. We are transparent about our commission structure from the outset. Get in touch and we can walk you through exactly what to expect.

How and when do I get paid?
Commission is paid once a deal has completed, funds have been released to your client and they have met product specific repayment milestones. We process payments promptly and will confirm the expected timeline when your brokerage is set up with us. You will receive a clear breakdown of what you have earned for each case and when.

We work with UK-based businesses that need short-term cash flow funding, typically between £15,000 and £250,000. Good candidates are businesses with consistent revenue, at least six months of trading history, homeownership and a clear funding need — whether for growth, stock, staffing, or bridging a gap.

We typically need:

  • Basic business details (such as registration number, what they do, website if applicable etc)
  • Basic director details (full name, date of birth, property ownership details if applicable)
  • 6 months of recent business bank statements, and OR open banking access through our secure Plaid integration.
  • We also require permission to run a personal credit check as part of our assessment.
  • The amount and type of facility being requested
  • For larger amounts we may request management accounts or additional supporting information. We will let you know exactly what is needed once we have an initial view of the case.

We aim to provide an indicative offer within 4 hours of receiving a complete application. Submissions made through the introducer portal are typically processed faster as all information arrives in a structured format ready for review.

We specialise in fast, unsecured short-term cash flow funding for British businesses. If your panel does not already include a lender focused specifically on this area, we fill that gap. We are straightforward to work with — no unnecessary delays, clear commission, and a team that communicates.
